Google is always a hot topic on internet, after speculation for a couple of months, Google revealed some information about Google’s Glass project. Google’s Project Glass is a research and development program which aims to build an augmented reality head-mounted display.

Google X and Project Glass

Through this project Google is trying to build a head-mounted device which will help the user to see the world combined with informations from Google services like show directions, map your location etc. Some technicalexperts on Internet says that it can used to find information about an object, translate a text, get directions instead of using a martphone.

“We think technology should work for you—to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t. A group of us from Google[x] started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment,” says Google.

At Google they are running a experimental laboratory for developing futuristic projects (such as a self-driving car) and this lab is known as Google X, Glass project is part of this lab.

According to New York Times the head mounted devices available in market by the end of 2012 and the expected cost is as much as the costs of a smart phone. Its also expected that these devices would run on Google’s Android operating system.
